Uzghorod Scientific and Technological Center of materials for optical data
carriers (Uzghorod Center of IR) was recreated according to the Decision of
Presidium NAN of Ukraine № 192 in 2004.
Structure of the Center:
- Management personnel,
- Department for chemical and technological researches of thin-film technology,
- Group for physical and chemical researches and computer modelling,
- Scientific and Technical Department.
The basic directions of activity of the Center are: searching, synthesis and
researching of physical and mathematical
- searching, synthesis and researching of physical and mathematical properties
of new non-polluting materials,
- preservations of the digital information,
- mathematical modelling and forecasting of physical and chemical and optical
properties of materials.

Engineers of the Institute finished creation of technology and specific
equipment for mass production of microprismatic reflective elements (cataphotes)
for equipping of highways, vehicles and personal safety means.
Technological cycle has been developed at the Institute from making
of stampers to replicating of microprism retroreflective elements with improved
light reflective properties.
