Principal research areas:
- physical backgrounds, principles, methods and systems of optical
information recording;
- theoretical backgrounds and applied methods for creating computer
information-and-analytical systems, investigation and development of information
protection methods in computer systems and networks. Creation of expert decision-making
support systems;
- development of methods and creating a system of computer networks for data
banks, databases and knowledge bases, computer information mass distribution
systems;
- creation of sound and image reproduction systems from rarity information
carriers, information recording systems by non-destructive and tomography methods.
Scientific schools: Fundamental backgrounds of recording, storing and distribution

Survivability and security of complex systems, including the theory and development

Investigation of fundamental backgrounds for interrelation of natural phenomena
and objects by designing a new mathematical description, using hypercomplex
number systems methods and developing the integral equation theory oriented
to tomographic investigations and structures (Synkov M. V., Honoured Worker
of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Prof., Dr. Tech. Sc.).
Research results proposed for joint upgrading and commercialization:
-the National Bank of Computer Information of Ukraine;
-a technology of manufacturing master disks and stampers for CD replication;
-a system for mass distribution of computer information by TV network;
-an optical-and-mechanical system of sound reproduction from Edison phonograph
cylinders;
-principles and theoretical backgrounds for constructing multilevel information-computer
systems for solving problems of processes and objects control in hierarchical
organizations;
-a concept and system project for a Government information-and-analytical system
on emergency situations;
-an information recording technology concerning emergency situations in Ukraine;
-methods and mechanisms for providing information security;
-a technology and system for reliability analysis and the synthesis of information
transfer systems.
